A hugely succesful dinner dance was held in Fota Island Hotel on Saturday night, March 3rd, with a crowd of nearly 300 people celebrating Carrig’s first senior hurling title in 93 years. Our senior hurlers were presented with their county medals by Willie John Daly, one of our greatest players. All of them got a tremendous reception from the crowd.
County board chairman Bob Ryan and East Cork board chairman Mick O’Brien were the two guest speakers, both of whom spoke glowingly of Carrig’s achievement. Fota Island were terrific hosts for the night, giving us a superb meal and great service.
