Cork minors celebrate a famous win over Clare to end a near-decade wait for a Munster minor hurling title.
Carrigtwohill can now boast of a two-time Munster champion who was part of the Cork team that won the inaugural u17 provincial competition in April and was an integral part of Cork ending a near-decade wait for a Munster minor hurling title in Thurles yesterday. Aaron Walsh-Barry joins an elite group of Carrig hurlers who have claimed silverware with the county and everyone involved with Carrigtwohill GAA would like to congratulate him on his personal success. Aaron put in a sterling performance at wing-back and it is a testament to his effort and drive that he started Cork’s last two games having been named from the bench for their first two matches. A busy week for Aaron will not end on Sunday however. The opening games of the Rebel Óg Premier minor championships take place this Tuesday and Carrig are in action in Ovens against Valley Rovers at half seven.
We would also like to congratulate Cork’s senior hurlers on a fantastic effort and display in claiming the Munster title. A famous double in the home of hurling and as ever there was a Carrig man right in the thick of it.
