Another week, another Munster final. That’s the way Cork hurling seems to be going these days and no one on Leeside is complaining about it. The latest victory came last Thursday in the Bord Gáis Energy U21 Hurling Championship when Cork edged their Waterford hosts by the bare minimum at the final whistle. Carrigtwohill’s Darren O’Driscoll was a member of the panel that secured the Rebel’s 11th win in a row in Munster hurling this year between U17, minor and senior. It continues a good year for Darren with Cork hurling after his involvement with the senior panel in the Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior League. It will be Darren’s latest attempt at a medal with the Cork hurlers as he was a part of the Cork intermediate team that lost out to Galway in the 2015 All-Ireland final.
We now have another Munster final to plan for on Wednesday, July 26th in the Gaelic Grounds at half seven against a fancied Limerick side. It adds to an already impressive year for Cork hurling thus far and Carrigtwohill’s involvement with the inter-county set-up. Congratulations to Darren on his hard work and efforts and to Cork U21s on their fine win. We look forward to the next day out in Limerick.
