We were delighted to be part of the main GAA Promotional Stand today, as part of the Carrigtwohill Pride of Place Competition. Carrigtwohill were representing Cork in this very prestigious competition, and in true Carrig style was dedicated to the memory of Joan Scully RIP who was an integral part of our village. There was no doubt who sent the beautiful sunshine this morning !
Carrigtwohill certainly put their best foot forward this morning for both Judges who arrived in Barryscourt Castle at 9.30 am. They arrived in a flurry of activity at the Community Hall at approximately 9.45am where there was a great turnout of boys and girls all sporting their Carrig Colours.
Following a video presentation and a whistle-stop tour of all that is great about the Village, the Judges were blown-away by the 40 plus stands from a variety of Community and Voluntary Organisations. It was an amazing event and huge Congratulations must go to Carrigtwohill Community Council and the Pride of Place Committee for a fantastic event. Results won’t be revealed until later in the year and until then, fingers crossed !
