Carrigtwohill had a comprehensive win against Carrigaline to book a place in the final of the Premier 2 hurling championship.
Both sides traded scores during the early stages of the first half to make the game level on three points apiece after fifteen minutes, with the Carrig scores coming courtesy of points from Calvin Fitzgerald and David Joseph either side of an Alex Kidney free. Carrigaline then struck for a goal but Carrigtwohill responded well to draw the game after 22 minutes with a John Nolan point, followed by two from Alex Kidney, one of which was a free. David Joseph then reeled off three points to Carrigaline’s single one to give Carrig a two point half-time lead.

Carrigtwohill had the perfect start to the second half with a Calvin Fitzgerald goal 20 seconds after the restart, Daniel Cahalane being the provider. Kuba Hofft then struck for two goals along with a brace of points by David Joseph to stretch the lead to 11 points (3-11 to 1-06), ten minutes into the second half. The next score was a Carrigaline goal followed by two Alex Kidney points and replied to with a Carrigaline point to leave a nine point gap between the sides heading into the final ten minutes of normal time. Carrigtwohill registered the last three scores of the game courtesy of two fine points from Alex Kidney and a great effort from David Joseph which went between the posts.
Well done to the players and mentors on what was a very good team performance. There were leaders in every line of the field and some great individual displays. Carrigtwohill will now play Na Piarsaigh in the final.
