MUNSTER GO GAMES MONSTER HURLING BLITZ
Dr. Morris Park, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Saturday 14th October 2017
Carrig’s U10s had a great finish to their GAA season. 26 of them travelled to Dr. Morris Park in Thurles to play in the Munster Go Games Monster Hurling Blitz.
We entered two teams and we played a total of six matches. At the end of the blitz we had won four of our six matches and were very competitive in the other two, which we narrowly lost.
We played against Kilmallock from Limerick, An Ghaeltacht from Waterford and Upperchurch/Drombane from Tipperary. There was great support from 11 parents along with some brothers and sisters of players, who travelled to Thurles. The coaches, James Hodgins, David Kelly, Alan Callan, Andy Fitzsimmons, Noel McCarthy and Colm Cullimore were very proud of the boys.
After a fantastic display of hurling, we finished off what was a great day out with a stop off in Cashel for McDonalds, followed by a visit to Mitchelstown caves where the boys had enough energy left to dance and sing in the cavern!
