Glenmary Hall, Monday 23rd April 2018
National Hurling Development Manager, Martin Fogarty hosted a very informative hurling workshop in conjunction with Carrigtwohill Juvenile GAA Club. The workshop was attended by almost 50 coaches from Carrigtwohill, Ballinhassig, St. Finbarrs, Erin’s Own, Lisgoold, Sarsfields and Aghada. Rebel Óg GDA, Shane Supple was also in attendance.
Martin was a trainer and selector with the Kilkenny senior hurlers from 2005 to 2013, during which time the Cats won six All-Irelands. His enthusiasm and energy is absolutely infectious and he exudes a deep passion for the game of hurling.
The workshop consisted of a practical session with Carrig’s U17/U16 hurlers, followed by a presentation and Q & A session. What was planned as a 90 minute workshop turned out to be four hours long, such is Martin’s fervour for the game!
Sincere thanks to Juvenile Club Coaching Officer, Kieran Brennan for organising the workshop and to the U17/U16 hurlers for partaking in the workshop.
