Thursday 24th May:
It was a beautiful sunny morning with both the girls and boys’ school teams traveling to Pairc Ui Rinn today for their respective Sciath na Scol Camogie and Hurling Finals.
Carrigtwohill Camogie Club are very proud of all the girls involved and Lorraine & Janelle from the club went into the school on Wednesday to present the Sciath na Scol Camogie Team with personalised water bottles before the big day. Bottles and booklets were presented by Maedhbh DeBurca, Captain.
Thursday morning dawned with plenty of support from the Scoil Chlochair Mhuire heading up to cheer on their team. Delighted to say that the demons of previous years’ tough loss was put to bed with a stunning performance over St Columbus School. This Douglas team are well known for their strong presence on the pitch but they were no match for our girls in the end. Finishing with a score of 4:4 to 0:0, the girls truly deserved their win and as captain, Maedhbh de Burca raised the cup to the delight of their supporters! Well done girls we are so proud and we have to thank the school and the coaching team for all their hard work getting these girls to the Final again.

And a lovely write up in the echo and Examiner the next day: –
What better way to finish things off than a fantastic win for the Carrigtwohill Boys from Scoil Mhuire Naofa over Scoil Oilibhéir (Ballyvolane). This was a tough match but the Carrig boys led the way from the start. With a heart stopping 2 goals in quick succession in the 2nd half by Scoil Oilibhéir, the boys immediately upped their game and pulled out all the stops with 3:8 to 3:0 on the scoreboard at the final whistle. Well done boys ye were brilliant.
Plenty of proud families in Carrigtwohill today – great achievement and our Community spirit soars even higher today.
