The Fé 12 leagues are currently on a summer break.
Carrig finished the first phase of Group 2 of the Central hurling league with two wins. On the 18th June, Valley Rovers hosted Carrigtwohill in Brinny. The east Cork side were two strong for the Innishannon team and led by 1-11 to 0-01 at half-time, running out winners on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-05. Scorers for Carrigwohill were Patrick Walsh (0-7), Corey Cunningham (1-3) and Tadhg Sullivan (0-4, 1 ‘65’).
The final game of initial league phase was against Kiltha Óg at West End on the 28th June. Carrig ran out winners on a scoreline of 6-10 to 2-05.
The final match of the first phase of Group 3 of the Central football league was against Mayfield in Carrigtwohill on the 26th June. The city side were too strong for Carrig on the evening, winning on a scoreline of 2-06 to 4-15.
The Fé 12s have been playing some challenge matches since the leagues went into downtime. They were beaten by a very good Sars team at Buck Leary’s Cross on the 30th June. This was followed up with a very good performance against St. Catherine’s in Ballynoe on the 20th July. In what was a very evenly contested game of hurling, St. Catherine’s scored a late goal to win by two points on a scoreline of 5-08 to 5-06. Carrig then hosted Youghal at West End on the 1st August in what was another very close game. The match was drawn at half-time on a scoreline of 0-06 to 1-3 and Carrig edged the second half to win the match by two points, 2-10 to 3-05. Scorers for Carrigtwohill were Mathew Barrett (1-2, 0-1f), Patrick Walsh (0-4) Tadhg Sullivan (1-1, 1-0f), Corey Cunningham (0-2) and Jamie Cotter (0-1).
