We held our first Club Open Day today, to encourage new families to join, and also round off the U6 and U8’s season for the year.
We began by welcoming any potential new members and inviting them to take part in some fun Halloween themed games. There was lots of pumpkin smashing games going on. All parents were asked to register their daughters interest and we will contact everyone in the New Year prior to registration day.
Dj Bertie gave his time today voluntarily to the Club and we are very grateful. He provided candy-floss and balloons and even brought Bon-Bon along as an unexpected treat for the girls. Thank you Bertie & Karen. If you are looking for any ideas for children’s parties please give Bertie a call.
We then had some fun games with our Under 6 & Under 8 Panel which was supposed to be fun but these girls certainly know their stuff and had some very competitive hooking, blocking and striking going on. Credit to all the coaches Ed, Linda, John, Janelle, Jackie, Gavin & Coleman with a particular mention to Aoife Cuddigan who gives her time freely every week, which is exceptional for a teenager. Thank you all for the effort put in at training, matches and blitz days. The girls skills have improved immensely throughout the season and they are well prepared to move up to older groups. Well Done girls.
Thank you so much also to the Parents, your support never goes unnoticed. Thank you all for your help today in the kitchen, for all the goodies and for the support for the Club throughout the season.
We had plenty of biscuits and cakes left over which Lorraine dropped down to the East Cork Food Appeal, which helps working families in the area put food on their tables. So your generosity helped many today.
Final thanks goes to our Under 6 & Under 8 Superstars ! Girls you are all a credit to your families & coaches, huge well done on your improvement throughout the 2018 Season.
We ended our day by presenting all our current members with a Certificate & Medal as a small gesture of thanks for their effort all Year.
Looking forward to 2019 already.
