Championship v Sarsfields in Sars on Monday 25th August 2013

Sars fielded a superb team including a number of Cork U16A stars for the Imokilly semi final U15A.  Carrigtwohill acknowledged that we had an uphill battle from the start, but bravely determined to give it their best shot.  And they did, a number of players had their best performances this season.  Despite this, Sars proved dominant in all quarters and Sars ran out winners in the end.  We wish them and Killeagh well in the Imokilly final.
Well done to the Carrig girls - did the jersey proud.

League v Dungourney in Carrigtwohill on Tuesday 13th August 2013

Carrigtwohill 1-6 Dungourney 1-6

A full squad available for the Dungourney U15A Imokilly match.  The Carrig girls looking forward to building on the previous success of their win last week.
Both teams seemed evenly matched on the night and scores were tit for tat.  Each team put their back line under pressure while they continued to send the ball to their respective forward lines.  However, some superb goal keeping from the Carrig goalkeep Vanessa Cotter prevented Dungourney from increasing their lead.  The Carrig girls showed great determination and clawed back an early advantage from Dungourney.

Well done girls, great spirit shown tonight - let's continue .............

League v Cobh in Carrigtwohill on Tuesday 30th July 2013

Carrigtwohill 5-2 Cobh 3-3

This was the team's best performance this year.  A gritty, determined performance set the tone from the off.  Against the wind in the first half, Carrig took advantage  and pressed hard on the midfield, half back area and it paid off. Good quality ball to the forward line who put numbers on the score board and a cracking goal from a free by Courtney Horgan.

With wind advantage in the second half Carrig were dogged and while tired legs crept in during the last quarter, they held well against a increasing threat from Cobh. Well done girls, excellent performance.

Team - Vanessa Cotter, Sophie Dixey, Sarah O Neill, Taylor Lane, Shauna O'Mahony, Clodagh O'Flynn, Susan Higgins, Ciara Brennan, Aimmee Roche, Emma Cotter, Sara Forde, Ellen Collins, Courtney Horgan, Caleigh Boland (inj), Miriam Curtin (inj).

League v Youghal in Youghalon Wednesday 17th July 2013

Youghal 4-12 Carrigtwohill 3-4

The East Cork U15 leagues have started.  We have been drawn against Youghal, Cobh and Dungourney.  We had our first outing last Wed night when we travelled to Youghal.  Despite missing a few players due to holidays etc we were under strength so we used a few girls from the U13 - and they have a great account of themselves.
The score line showed us no justice, Youghal won a tight battle.  Well done to all girls that played on the night
