Challenge v Crosshaven in Crosshaven on Saturday 14th September 2013

What a gorgeous day it was this Saturday - a real Indian Summer day and lucky for us as we were traveling down to Crosshaven to play their U6s in a friendly match. Crosshaven Camogie club is only 2 years old and this was the first time ever that their U6s played in a match against another club so a big congrats to them. As always it was lovely to see all the little girls wearing their club colours and showing off their skills. Our girls played brilliantly and really showed us and the parents how they have improved since the start of the season. All girls had a chance at scoring goals and well done to the newest girls on both sides who, despite last week being their first week at training, still joined in with great determination and effort.

Three 10 minutes sides were played and the girls got a chance to play in all positions. And it was a bonus for all the Moms and Dads to cheer from the sidelines in the gorgeous warm sunshine! It was an early start as we set off at 10.30am,so for those who could not make it and turned up to train with Betty and the U8s instead we want to say a big Well Done! We also have to say a special thank you for the hospitality shown to us at Crosshaven club, as we were all invited back to the clubhouse afterwards for teas, coffees, drinks and biscuits. It was a lovely touch. The U6 Crosshaven girls really enjoyed their first match experience and would like to travel down to us soon for a friendly match so we will try to fit that in to our schedule soon.

Skills Certificates

After a summer of fun training we recognised the girl\'s effort and attendance by handing out special Certificates - the 2nd to add to their collection this year! These Certificates are to acknowledge the girls' Team Spirit, which is so important and is something we always encourage. Well done to all the girls who turned up and got their Certificate and of course a yummy treat! We look forward to more training sessions and matches against other clubs in the next two months.

Blitz v Sarfields & Blackrock in Carrigtwohill on Saturday 8th June 2013

The sun was shining down on us all as our U6 girls kitted out for their first blitz of the season, against travelling teams Sarsfield and Blackrock. There was great excitement as our girls played brilliantly and showed us all how hard they have been training this season.

We played 3 short matches with each team getting a chance to rest for 1 match. All the girls played their hearts out and showed off their dribbling and passing skills, with quite a few goals to cheer for also! We also showed great team spirit and fair play as a few of our girls agreed to play one of the matches with the Blackrock team to make up their numbers properly.

Thanks girls this shows generous spirit. It was a great day for both players and spectators alike and we look forward to many more matches - hopefully in the sun!
