League v Mayfield in Carrigtwohill on Tuesday 5th March 2013

Carrigtwohill 1-9 Mayfield 2-7

Minor football league vs Mayfield was played under lights in Carrig and a good game was had by Carrig who were unluckey to go down by a single point. We conceded two very easy goals midway through the second hald but finished very strongly and were unluckey not to snatch a draw. Our fitness levels showed up well and great chacter was displayed to bring to game to Mayfield. Once again some our our younger players had excellent games notably Oliver Baverstock in goals, Shane Walsh and Austin Creagh who both had excellent attacking displays from the back and Eoghan O'Mahony in the forwards.

Team. Oliver Baverstock, Shane Walsh, Frank Keirans, Joseph Ronayne, Brendan McCarthy, Brian Cashman, Austin Creagh, Shane Murphy, Cathal O'Sullivan, Ciaran Gosnell, Eoghan O'Mahony, Luke Kelly, Maurice Curtin, Jamie Mc Carthy, Conor O'Mahony.

Subs. Stephen O'Flynn, Paul Bardenand Darren O'Driscoll.

League v Fr O'Neills in Aghavine on Saturday 16th February 2013

Carrigtwohill 2-4 Fr O'Neill's 0-9

An excellent win to get our minor football league campaign off to an great start. Carrig were extremely lethargic in the opening half and this hopefully can be attributed to it being our first game of the season. O'Neills led by 4 points at the break and Carrig hadn't yet got out of first gear.

A hugh improvement in the second half saw much greater desire and commitment from Carrig and two excellent goals saw us sneak a one point win. This was a good confidence booster but we will need to improve our performances to make a mark on this league. We had excellent performances from some of our younger players, notably Dara Crotty, Shane Walsh, Brendan McCarthy and Conor O'Mahony.

Team - Shane Walsh, Dara Crotty, Dylan Scriven, Adam Mc Namara, Brian Cashman, Brendan Mc Carthy, Austin Creagh, Shane Murphy, Cathal O'Sullivan, Jamie Mc Carthy, Darren O'Driscoll, Ciaran Gosnell, Paul Bardon, Eoin O'Mahony, Maurice Curtin.

Subs - Luke Kelly and Conor O'Mahony
