Challenge v Blackrock in Carrigtwohill on Saturday 7th June 2013

We welcomed Blackrock to Carrig to play an U11 hurling challenge match on Sat morning, the sun shone and we had a great turnout of 22 players. We played two 11 a side matches which were both keenly contested. Carrig's "Blue" team ran out comfortable winners with strong performances right through the team. Carrig's "Gold" team were narrowly beaten by a single point after a great comeback in the second half saw them just run out of time. Both games were played in a very competitive, sporting manner which was a credit to both teams. Many thanks' again to Blackrock  for travelling the plans is to have a rematch in Blackrock in the Summer months

Challenge v Fermoy in Fermoy on Friday 26th April 2013

Fermoy 1-1 Carrigtwohill 4-5

The U11 hurlers played Fermoy in a most enjoyable challenge match in Fermoy last Friday. There was a great turnout of 21 players which was great to see. The lads started slowly but soon realised that they needed to up the ante to compete with a Fermoy team that was well prepared. Carrig responded well to the challenge and went into the break ahead thanks to some great forward work by Joe Ahern. The second half saw a fantastic show of determination from both sides with Carrig eventually running out the winners. Great start to the year with alot of lessons learned.

League v Killeagh Ita's in Killeagh on Monday 13th May 2013

Killeagh Ita's 5-2 Carrigtwohill 2-2

The U11 footballers took on Kill Itas away last Monday, after a very poor start Carrig found themselves 2-2 down after the first 5 minutes, the lads deserve great credit though for sticking with it and a great point from Cian Horgan and some great saves from Jason Manley saw the match turn.

The second half was a great battle with a good display of skill from both sides. The match was lost in the opening minutes but the team can take great heart from the manner in which they fought back and the skills that they showed in the second half.
