Senior Hurling League Round 1
Carrigtwohill 2-11 Bride Rovers 1-11 in Carrig on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7.30pm
Carrig opened their senior league campaign with a home win against championship opponents Bride Rovers.
The sides were level at half time in an evenly-contested game with James Mulcahy’s first half goal the pick of the scores. A strong, surging run was matched by a well-taken finish. And Mulcahy caused Bride Rovers problems all evening as he finished with 1-4. Tomás Hogan was unerring from frees and play and finished with 0-6 (0-5f).
Carrig pulled away in the second half but had to work hard. A scrambled Justin Oke goal was ultimately the difference with substitute Neil Coughlan tacking on a point at the death after causing a turnover. Carrig were stout in defence and aggressive going forward and saw out a good start to the league campaign.
