Goals win games and a driving run from Sean de Búrca that led to a left-foot finish into the top corner in the first half and an expertly-dispatched penalty from Liam Gosnell in the second, won Carrig this junior league match.

An even first half saw Carrig lead 1-4 to 0-6. A mix-up at the back let Bride Rovers steal in for a goal shortly after the restart but that lead wouldn’t last long as one of Brendan Twomey’s driving runs led to a penalty that Gosnell put away with ease. 

Carrig built their lead out to 3 points and put in a staunch rearguard action to see out any goal chances for Rovers at the death.

Carrig now have 2 wins, a draw and 1 loss from 4 Junior Football League games played.
