This was an evenly contested game for the first twenty minutes, with the score standing at 0-05 to 0-04 in favour of Carrigtwohill. Those early scores came from the lively Shane ‘Tudna’ Healy (two), Neil Coughlan (two) and Lorcán Walsh. Carrig dominated the remainder of the first half, running up a ten point (1-11 to 0-04) half-time lead. Tuds struck three more, the third one being the pick of the scores as he did a pirouette/dummy combination on the ‘65’ to lose his marker and cut through the middle, running 40m and striking straight from the hurley. Matthew Kidney chipped in with 1-1. George McCarthy and Neil Coughlan scored a point apiece.

Carrigtwohill emptied the entire bench of twelve subs in the second half. The scores came from Shane Healy (two), Darragh McCann, Alex O’Driscoll, Jonny Spillane and Adrian Browne. Russell Rovers added a point to their tally.

Well done to the players and management. 24 players got a run in the match and the entire 1-17, bar one point, was scored from play with nine players getting on the scoreboard.
