Carrigtwohill GAA Healthy Club will host its third annual Turkey Trot on St. Stephen's morning. All proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go to Carrig local and former Carrigtwohill player, Mick O'Sullivan and his family. Mickey is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma having just recovered from a second stem cell transplant for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His wife, Niamh is Mickey's full-time carer. They have three young children: Molly, Darragh and Caoimhe. All funds raised will assist with the day-to-day bills & expenses of running a home for the duration of Mick’s treatment and assist with the costs of travelling from Cork to Dublin for treatment.
Please come out in force on St. Stephen's Day and show the Carrig community's support for Mick and his family.
You can read Mick's story in this article from the Echo Live. The 5k jog or walk will start at the GAA Club and follow the usual route eastwards to Bloomsday Flowers, up Carrigane, through Cúl Árd, across the Bog Road and back to the club via Carrigane.
There will also be an 800m Junior Turkey Trot around the club car park for the younger ages. Looking forward to seeing you on the 26th.
