The East Cork Junior Football League Division 1 and East Cork U21 B Football Championship winning teams from 2025 received their medals in the clubhouse on Thursday, 12th February.

Carrig had a comprehensive 2-13 to 0-11 win against Fr. O’Neill’s in the junior football league final on the 23rd May last year.  In so doing, they bridged an 18 year gap, with Brendan Twomey lifting the Bishop Roche Cup.

The U21 championship final was played in heatwave conditions in Ballinacurra on the evening of the 9th July.  Carrig won a cracking game against St. Colmcille’s by the slimmest of margins, on a scoreline of 1-16 to 2-12.  Cian O’Riordan captained the team.

Also honoured on the evening were the players who wore the Cork jersey in 2025, with Daniel Murnane and Matthew Barrett both receiving plaques to acknowledge their achievements in playing with the Cork U20 hurlers.

A presentation was made to Pat O’Connor to mark the 50th anniversary of his Munster championship success with the Cork senior hurlers.  There will be a separate post about Pat.
