East Cork Junior B Hurling League
St. Catherine’s v Carrigtwohill
Sunday, 25th July in Ballynoe
St. Catherine’s 1-13 Carrigtwohill 2-18
Carrig put in another good performance to make it three out of three wins in the Junior B league, having already overcome Bride Rovers and Cobh in their first two outings.
The visitors led by 1-5 to 0-3 at the first water break with the goal coming from a rocket of a shot from Justin Oke. Carrig maintained their lead to go in four points up at half-time, 1-9 to 1-5. Luke Kelly, Shane Healy, Matthew Kidney, Liam Scriven and Justin contributed to the points scoring.
Carrigtwohill kicked on in the second half with a well-dispatched Luke Kelly penalty sealing the win. Shane Healy was very impressive at full-forward, showing well and scoring a further four points from various angles to add to his brace in the first half. Seán de Búrca, Liam Scriven, Dáire Crotty, and Luke added to the points tally.
Well done to the players and their coaches on another good league display. A special mention must go to team manager, the ageless Marty McConville, who togged out due to a few last-minute absentees.
