Carrig 1-14 St. Catherines 0-13 in Dungourney on Saturday, September 18^th

Carrig had a roaring start to this round 2 clash with 1-5 on the board at the first half water break. Luke Kelly had 0-2f and further scores from Shane Healy and Daire Crotty 0-2 had Carrig well in control before Peadar Downey netted. Catherines had 0-2 points in reply and only managed to tack on 0-2 more by the interval with Carrig answering with a further Kelly and Healy scores; 1-7 to 0-4 at the break.

The second half was more competitive and even though Catherines pushed late Carrig were always in control. Catherines managed to get within 0-4 points at the death as the game finished 1-14 to 0-13. Carrig’s second half scores came from Kelly 0-3 including 0-1f and 1 fantastic sideline; Daire Crotty also added 3 more fine scores and Jamie McCarthy gave Carrig an unassailable lead after a charging run.

Carrig now have 2 wins from 2 and meet Dungourney in the final group game.
