Carrigtwohill started slowly in this match and were chasing the match from the very early stages, coming up short in the finish.

Liam Scriven opened the scoring with a point but then it was all Midleton who registered an unanswered 2-2 to go seven points ahead. Scriven and Billy Scully raised white flags for Carrig to make it 2-03 to 0-03 at the first water-break. The second quarter was pretty much parity, as the sides traded scores to make it 3-05 to 0-08 at half-time. Liam Scriven (0-2; 0-1f, 0-01 '65'), Chris Keegan (0-2f) and Billy Scully (0-1) did the scoring for Carrigtwohill.

There was only one score registered between both teams in the third quarter; a point coming from a Liam Scriven free. A scrambled Daragh Hannigan goal and a fine point by Matthew Kidney reduced the margin to just two points (3-05 to 1-10) in the final quarter. Midleton finished stronger than Carrig, scoring another 1-4 to Carrigtwohill's two points (from Matthew Kidney and Daragh Hannigan).

Carrigtwohill will play Carraig na bhFear in their final group game.
