Details from tge event organisers is as below...
Thank you so much Carrigtwohill GAA for supporting us with our Cork Mental Health Awareness Cycle taking place on Saturday, March 1st.
Our Awareness Cycles are designed to bring individuals and communities together in a powerful display of unity and support. Our events create safe, welcoming spaces where participants can openly discuss mental health, foster connections, and inspire hope. By encouraging collective action and conversation, our Awareness Cycles and events promote the message that "It’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help."
Furthermore, we utilise our Awareness Cycles to highlight the issue of suicide among men and to encourage help seeking behaviour. In Ireland, men account for 3 out of 4 suicides each year, highlighting a deeply concerning disparity. Like everyone, men deserve the freedom to express their struggles and seek help without the fear of judgment. By breaking down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and traditional notions of masculinity, we can create a culture where emotional vulnerability is recognised not as a weakness but as a powerful display of strength and resilience.
